Companion Guide for GTA 6 (unofficial fan app)

Effective date: 2026-07-02

Android package: dev.mjandroid.gamecompanion

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Companion Guide for GTA 6 Android app ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to deliver news, run the app reliably, and support advertising.

Summary: No accounts. No login. We do not sell your personal data. The app collects only what is needed for push notifications, basic usage analytics, crash reporting, and advertising, all via Google/Firebase services described below.

1. Who we are

The app is published by an independent developer as an unofficial fan companion. For any privacy question or request, contact us at mjandroiddev@gmail.com.

2. No accounts, no login

The app does not offer or require user accounts, sign-in, or profiles. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. You use the app anonymously.

3. What we collect and why

a) Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)

To deliver breaking-news notifications, the app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Google generates a device registration token that lets us send notifications to your device. This token is not linked to your identity. If you disable notifications, the app stops using push for alerts.

b) Firebase Analytics (usage events)

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used in aggregate, for example how often the feed is refreshed, articles are opened, or a quiz is completed. This helps us improve the app. Analytics data is pseudonymous and may include device and app-usage information (such as app version, device model, and general event counts).

c) Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash and stability reports so we can fix bugs. Crash reports may include diagnostic information such as the device state at the time of the crash, stack traces, and app version. They do not contain your personal identity.

d) Google AdMob (advertising)

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and Google may access your device's Advertising ID and related information (such as approximate, non-precise usage signals) as described in Google's policies.

4. What we do not do

5. Data retention

Push tokens are retained while your app installation is active and are refreshed or invalidated by Google over time; uninstalling the app or disabling notifications removes our ability to reach your device. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google/Firebase according to Google's default and configured retention windows for those services. Advertising data is handled and retained by Google under its advertising policies. We do not maintain our own separate database of personal user records.

6. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us at mjandroiddev@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.

7. Your choices and controls

8. Third-party services and links

The services above are provided by Google. Their handling of data is governed by Google's own policies:

News articles in the app link out to original third-party sources. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
